In 2015, Tsinghua University and UC Berkeley signed an agreement to form Tsinghua-Berkeley Shenzhen Institute (TBSI). In October, TBSI officially unveils at Shenzhen Nanshan Intelligence Park.

In December 2016, GSST and the University of Melbourne signed a letter of intent on potential collaboration in the fields of big data, information sciences, smart networks, life and health.

In March 2018, the Institute for Hospital Management of Tsinghua University (IHM) and Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health signed a memorandum expressing the wish to collaborate on research and joint academic programs related to medical and health system reform. Through this agreement, IHM also became one of the first members of the Harvard China Health Collaborative Partnership.

In November 2016, at the University of Sydney Center in China launch ceremony, GSST and the University of Sydney signed a framework agreement to explore the implementation of a postgraduate dual degree program.

In November 2016, GSST signed a collaborative agreement on postgraduate education with the Faculty of Environment, University of Waterloo, laying the foundation for future joint research projects and dual degree programs.
