Tian Xi features in Forbes China 30 Under 30 List

Recently, the Forbes China 30 Under 30 List for 2024 was announced. Tian Xi, an Assistant Professor and Ph.D. supervisor at Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School (Tsinghua SIGS), was named in the list for his outstanding contributions to the fields of wireless technology and bioelectronics.




Tian Xi received his B.S. degree from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China in 2016 and his Ph.D. from the National University of Singapore in 2021. From 2021 to 2024, he served as a Research Fellow at the Institute for Health Innovation and Technology at the National University of Singapore. In February 2024, he joined Tsinghua SIGS and established the Wireless Bioelectronics Group.


In recent years, Tian Xi has led an interdisciplinary team focused on developing advanced wireless technologies to address critical challenges in human health. His research includes wireless communication, sensing, and energy transfer for wearable and implantable devices, advancing the integration of wireless technologies with bioelectronic systems.  


Tian's innovative "wearable electromagnetic metamaterial textiles" technology has significantly improved efficiency in body area communication, marking a breakthrough in wearable and implantable wireless networks. His development of "metamaterial biosensor" technology overcomes traditional technology bottlenecks, enabling high-precision wireless physiological monitoring in dynamic environments. This advancement holds substantial value for predicting driver fatigue, enhancing traffic safety, and improving emergency response and life-saving efforts. His work has garnered recognition from several international automotive manufacturers and airlines, with commercialization efforts underway. His research findings have been published in journals such as Nature Electronics, Nature Communications, and Science Advances.


The Forbes China 30 Under 30 List is a globally renowned program that spans science, business, culture, and other fields, aiming to identify and honor young leaders under 30 who exhibit exceptional talent and creativity.
