Logistics Engineering and Management
Program Overview
The Logistics Engineering and Management Program is designed to fulfill the needs of talents in advanced logistics technology and management in the logistics industry, manufacturing, medical & health, banking, and public services sectors. The program aims at nurturing globally competitive students with a broad and solid knowledge of logistics engineering. By closely cooperating with companies, the program cultivates high-end logistics talents for the market and emphasizes innovation in both knowledge and practice. The duration of this program is 2-3 years, with an annual enrollment of about 40 students.
Research & Achievements
The Division of Logistics Engineering and Management focuses on modeling and optimizing logistics and supply chain systems, conducting research in areas such as smart supply chain, intelligent transportation, intelligent warehousing, logistics robots, port operations, and logistics industry. The division has undertaken various projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), National Key R&D programs, International (Regional) Joint Research Programs, as well as projects funded by the Shenzhen Municipality and Guangdong province.
In terms of industry cooperation, the division has established relationships with Huawei Hisilicon Co. Ltd., SF Express, China Southern Power Grid, VIPS, CIMC, and other well-known companies, and has been providing these companies with technology services such as algorithms, software, solutions, and consulting. In the past five years, the Division of Logistics Engineering and Management has published over 70 papers in prominent journals and conference proceedings, including Operations Research, Transportation Science, Transportation Research Part B/E, INFORMS Journal on Computing, Omega, and so on. The division has won prizes in the Guangdong and Sichuan Province Science and Technology Progress Awards and the China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing (CFLP) Science and Technology Progress Awards. The division has also built several experimental platforms, such as the Shenzhen Logistics Engineering & Simulation Laboratory and the Logistics Robots Teaching Laboratory, which provide strong support for scientific research and teaching.
Talent Cultivation
The Professional Master's Degree Program in Logistics Engineering started to recruit students in 2009. By 2024, the program has admitted a total of 399 students with 278 graduates. The division has won 51 Outstanding Papers of Tsinghua University, with 17 Outstanding Graduates of Tsinghua University and 12 Outstanding Graduates of Beijing.
