About
The Master and Ph.D programs of Electronic Information in Computer Technology has been recruiting students since 2009, with a focus on areas such as Internet technology, media computing, network security and intelligent computing / artificial intelligence.
Research
In recent years, the division has undertaken over 50 projects such as the National Key R&D Program of China, National 973 Program, National 863 Program, U.S. Natural Science Foundation, European Research Foundation, Shenzhen Science and Technology Commission Technology Research Project, Hong Kong Government Research Grants Bureau Project, Guangdong-Hong Kong Cooperation Research Project Project and many others.
Major achievements include new coding technologies, machine learning algorithms and applications, Internet and security, intelligent voice interaction and expressive visual voice synthesis. We also own a number of invention patents, including PCT authorization for international invention patents.
More than 60 papers have been published in top journals such as IEEE TIT, ToN, TSP, JSAC, TCOM, TMC, TPDS, TASLP, TNNLS and top conferences such as NIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR, ICCV, MM and Infocom.
Faculties of our division has been awarded with National Natural Science Award, Science and Technology Progress Award of Ministry of Education, Natural Science Award of Ministry of Education, Science and Technology Progress Award of Chinese Institute of Electronics, Science and Technology Award of Beijing, and Science and Technology Innovation Award of Shenzhen.
Professional Development
Internship and practice
Students have completed internships in the fields of network, big data and AI at Tencent, Huawei, Baidu, Alibaba, Netease, Sogou, telecom, Samsung, Shenzhen Metro, Shenzhen Center of National Supercomputing and other enterprises.
Entrepreneurship and innovation
Student teams have won prizes in innovation and entrepreneurship competitions, such as the National University Internet Application Innovation Competition in 2018, Guangdong maker's Cup. Jia Xuya, one of our Ph.D. graduates was also elected as one of eight Huawei talented teenagers” in 2019.
Academic research
Students are marking their entry at the international forefront of research in artificial intelligence, computer network, multimedia and other fields.
More than 200 papers have been published in the past three years, among which many are retrieved by SCI or EI. Students have published more than 40 papers in top journals such as TIT, ToN, JSAC, TSP and international conferences such as Conference on Neural Information Processing Systems (NIPS), International Conference on Machine Learning (ICML), International Conference on Learning Representations (ICLR) and many others.
Academic exchanges
With established relationships with leading universities worldwide, students will have opportunities to go on academic exchanges, or take part in academic conferences in the United States, Britain, Italy, Germany, South Korea, Canada, Australia, Sweden, the Netherlands, Spain, Dubai, Austria, and other places.
