Program Overview
This program aims to train talented students on how to address key challenges and issues in global health. Students take part in multi-disciplinary research into nanoscience and technology and explore new detection equipment, medical devices and pharmaceutical technologies. Research areas that will be covered include large-scale systems and fundamental materials and devices, specifically in Bio-Manufacturing, Cancer Biomarkers, Therapeutics and Theranostics, Biomedical Detection and Imaging, Stem Cell Therapy and Regenerative Medicine, Integrated Molecular Diagnostic System, Life big data.
This program currently has research directions in biomanufacturing and artificial organs, bioimaging and detection and diagnosis, stem cells and regenerative medicine, oncology drugs and therapeutic research, immunology and immunoengineering, and life big data. With first-class faculty and scientific research and innovation platforms, we encourage students to conduct interdisciplinary research and emphasize the cultivation of innovative thinking and creativity in the training process, aiming to cultivate high-quality talents who are open, internationalized, and have a solid foundation in scientific research oriented to engineering technology and capable of solving the major challenges and new problems faced in the field of regional and global public health, and the real needs of the global life and health industry. Students are required to fulfill the requirements of the Regulations of Tsinghua University on Graduate Student Registration, and will be awarded the Academic Master's Degree of Engineering by Tsinghua University if they have completed all the cultivation steps and met the requirements of Tsinghua University for the awarding of Master's Degree.
