The Master of Engineering in Artificial Intelligence (AI) Program is one of the most popular master's programs at SIGS, and is a key program among the school’s seven interdisciplinary theme areas.
Faculty: The program integrates faculty and research platforms of leading disciplines at Tsinghua University, such as Automation, Computer Science and Electronic Communication. Most of our full-time faculty members have studied or worked at well-known overseas universities, and have experience presiding over national research projects.
Research platforms: Our research platforms include the Intelligent Computing Laboratory, Future Media Laboratory,Human-Machine Voice Interaction Laboratory, Intelligent Robot Laboratory, Intelligent Transportation Research Institute and others. They support our professors and teams in attaining outstanding research achievements.
Industry cooperation: We attach great importance to training talents for industry needs. Joint training platforms have been established with leading AI companies such as Alibaba, Tencent, ByteDance, SenseTime, Huawei, Ping An Technology, Meituan, UBTECH, and Sangfor.These industry platforms provide strong support for students to complete their professional practice and apply knowledge learned in the classroom.
Student achievements: Our students have published papers in top academic conferences such as CVPR, ICML, ICDE, IJCAI, AAAI, ACL, and in authoritative journals such as PAMI and TNNLS. They have won Best Paper honors in conferences and excellent master's thesis of Tsinghua University. Many of our graduates have joined companies in AI-related high-tech industries, while some have chosen to pursue further studies at world-class universities.
Mission
We aim to cultivate students with strong professional knowledge, creativity, cross-field collaborative skills, and with a global perspective. Students will develop foresight and predictive capabilities in the AI field, solve practical problems, and become professional and entrepreneurial talents capable of undertaking technical or management roles in the AI field.

Demand-oriented and application-driven: Guided by AI applications in the industry, and expanding on core technologies and innovative methods, we will realize the empowerment and transformation of AI in related disciplines, and form a compound talent training model of "AI + X".
Project traction and diversified support: We support major national projects and development plans, and lay out interdisciplinary innovation platforms and talent training bases that cover theoretical foundations, algorithms, software, integrated circuit design and other areas.
Cross-industry integration and specialized training: We aim to deepen integration of AI with basic sciences, information sciences, medicine, philosophy, social sciences, and other related disciplines. At the same time, we will strengthen integration with industry to nurture specialized talents that meet industry expectations.
