The full-time ME in Data Science and Engineering Program at Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School (Tsinghua SIGS) aims to equip students with solid theoretical foundation and in-depth professional knowledge in collecting, storing, calculating, managing, analyzing and applying data, and also with strong industry application capability, professional quality and international competitiveness. After completion of the program, students are expected to play leading roles as intelligent analysts, strategic decision makers or data scientists in research institutes, governments and enterprises in big data-related industries including internet, artificial intelligence, finance, telecommunication, healthcare, transportation and logistics, and with potential to conduct high-level scientific research.

Launched in 2014, students of the program are based in Shenzhen and advised by full-time faculties in Shenzhen. The program has now formed a complete curriculum system and multidimensional talent training model, and established cooperative relations with world-renowned universities, offering international visits, exchanges and joint education opportunities for students. In 2019, our program has won the first prize in Tsinghua University Teaching Achievement Award. Our graduates are popular in the job market and have launched their careers in leading companies in internet, artificial intelligence, telecom information and finance, while some opt for further studies in world-class universities.

The program has developed a high quality core curriculum. Some data science courses have been put online on different MOOC platforms domestically and abroad, creating broad social impact. We have also established joint education bases with top companies including Tencent, Sensetime and Huawei, offering strong support for students to complete their professional practice.
