Your Path to Tsinghua SIGS: 2025 Virtual Open Day Highlights

The second Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School (Tsinghua SIGS) Virtual Open Day 2025 was held on the afternoon of March 7. The event was organized by the SIGS Admissions Office.



Associate Professor Huang Yuxiong, Deputy Director of Academic Affairs, opened the event with an overview of Tsinghua SIGS, encouraging prospective students to apply before the 2025 intake deadline on May 31. He also highlighted the ongoing registration for the 2025 Global Summer School, which will welcome students from around the world to experience academics at SIGS from June 22 to 28.


Wang Yijie from the Institute of Innovation Management, Dong Yuhan from the Institute of Data and Information, Peng Lele from the Institute of Materials Research, Qiao Yang from the Open Faculty for Innovation, Education, Science, Technology and Art (Open FIESTA), Wang Runming from the Institute of Biopharmaceutical and Health Engineering, Wu You from the Institute for Hospital Management, Peter Russell from the Institute of Future Human Habitats, Yu Longfei from the Institute of Environment and Ecology, and Ouyang Zhongkun from the Institute of Ocean Engineering—nine professors and program coordinators from nine recruiting institutes, divisions, and programs shared insights on teaching resources, academic research, future development, and international educational features at SIGS.


The Admissions Office concluded the event with a session on the application process, financial aid, and featured programs, followed by a Q&A session.


The second Tsinghua SIGS Open Day 2025 attracted more than 20,000 views globally, with a peak of about 500 viewers concurrently.  Attendees actively participated in the event, submitting a wide range of questions about academics, scholarship information, and admissions requirements during the information sessions.

Institute of Innovation Management

Open Faculty for Innovation, Education, Science, Technology and Art (Open FIESTA)

Open FIESTA integrates global innovation resources, fostering new knowledge creation, addressing complex societal and scientific challenges, nurturing creativity and innovation in students, and instilling professionalism and a sense of social responsibility.


Institute of Biopharmaceutical and Health Engineering (iBHE)

iBHE focuses on advancing health technology and engineering for human wellness, aligning with the strategic vision of building a Healthy China and supporting Shenzhen’s biotechnology industry.


Institute for Hospital Management

The Institute for Hospital Management, Tsinghua University (THU) is the first institution to provide professional interdisciplinary healthcare management programs in China. With strong support from the Beijing campus and Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School (SIGS), the institute trains future public health and healthcare leaders in China and has attracted both international and domestic faculty members since its establishment in 2012.


Institute of Future Human Habitats (iFHH)

Launched in 2020, iFHH adopts a cross-disciplinary approach to explore advanced technologies and cutting-edge ideas related to the design of future human habitats. With a focus on design research, iFHH aims to create intelligent and sustainable built environments.


Institute of Environment and Ecology

Committed to global sustainable development, iEE is dedicated to creating new theories of ecological and environmental protection, developing novel technologies, cultivating globally competent high-level talents, and providing policy support for ecological civilization.


Institute for Ocean Engineering (IOE)

Established in 2020, IOE encompasses doctoral disciplines in Civil Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, and Electrical Engineering, along with master's programs in Civil Engineering, Hydraulics Engineering, Environmental Science and Engineering, and Electrical Engineering.
