The renovation project for Building CI and Building CII at Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School (Tsinghua SIGS) was completed in February 2025, at the start of the new semester.

While preserving its geometric architectural style, parts of Building C’s facade incorporate red-brick elements, symbolizing the deep-rooted and flourishing Tsinghua culture in Shenzhen. With brand-new classrooms, intelligent equipment, and spacious environments, the upgraded teaching facilities offer a refreshing experience.

Building CI spans approximately 5,882.79 square meters and houses 18 classrooms of varying sizes, accommodating 71 courses in the 2025 spring semester. Building CII covers approximately 3,949.35 square meters and includes both large and small lecture halls.

The overall design of Building C embodies the Tsinghua Impression, aiming to create a comfortable, elegant, and vibrant learning atmosphere. From interior finishes, air conditioning system, fire safety system, and elevator facilities, to the audio-visual and electrical systems in lecture halls, everything has been comprehensively upgraded. Building CI features lecture halls, small classrooms, and discussion rooms equipped with movable furniture. Across different functional zones, faculty and students can engage in diverse forms and scales of learning activities—attending lectures, self-study in public spaces, or hosting seminars.

A new exploration of the teaching and learning model
This renovation transcends a mere upgrade of campus infrastructure; it represents an active exploration of innovative teaching and learning models. The new buildings prioritize the requirements of interactive and integrated classes, equipped with a full suite of diverse teaching facilities. While retaining traditional chalkboards, electronic blackboards with practical teaching aids have been introduced, injecting fresh vitality into the development of intelligent campus.

Lectern-free classrooms boost efficiency!
The new classrooms adopt a lectern-free design, breaking from traditional setups. Freed from bulky lecterns, teachers can move freely among students, fostering closer interactions and immersive learning experiences. The oral presentation format also makes classroom environment more international.
