SIGS carries out in-depth exchanges with the senior staff delegation of the University of Malaya

In order to strengthen the cross-cultural communication capabilities of SIGS, and improve the level of international management, the Office of Global Affairs organized the "International Administrative Capacity Improvement Project" and invited a delegation of senior staff from the University of Malaya, Malaysia, to visit from December 9th to 11th, 2024, and conduct in-depth exchanges with staff from multiple departments. On December 9th, Vice Dean ZUO Jian'e met with the delegation from the University of Malaya.


During the three-day event, the delegation held discussions and shared work experiences with SIGS Office of Global Affairs, Office of Academic Affairs, Office of Communications and Outreach, Office of Campus Management and Services, Office of Student Affairs, Information and Data Services Center, Office of Human Resources, and Office of Research.

This exchange activity not only provides an opportunity for the two universities to learn from each other's management experience, but also strengthens the academic and scientific research connections between the two sides, and provides the possibility for more joint projects in the future.


The Deputy Director of the Office of Global Affairs, Assistant Professor Ouyang Zhongkun, reflected on the program: “I enjoyed the exchange with the delegation from the University of Malaya led by Mr. Nizam and his colleagues, and learned about their achievements in research and higher education. Hopefully, we can soon send a team of students, faculty, and staff to the University of Malaya to further enhance our relationship and improve SIGS's international exposure.”


Chen Xudong, from Career Development Education, remarked, “I had an enjoyable communication and exchange with the staff of the University of Malaya on enhancing student employability and career development. Looking forward to our employees and students having more in-depth cooperation with the University of Malaya in the future.”


Amirul Eqhwan Rahim, Assistant Registrar at the Centre for Foundation Studies in Science, Universiti Malaya, shared: “Participating in the international mobility program at Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School has been an enriching experience. I truly appreciate the discipline and the international campus culture at SIGS, as well as the effective collaboration among departments, all of which reflect the university's vision of 'Preparing future leaders for global challenges.'"


Nur Hafizah Mohd Yusopp, Office Secretary at the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic & International)'s Office, Universiti Malaya, also expressed their thoughts on the meeting: “The modern and welcoming environment of SIGS’ campus left a lasting impression on me. Engaging in meaningful discussions with staff across different departments opened my eyes to innovative teaching practices and cutting-edge research, particularly in the fields of technology and innovation.”


Intan Liana Mohamad Lias, Administration Assistant at the Deputy Dean (Postgraduate), Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya, reflected on the broader administrative insights she gained: “This program provided me with a broader understanding of organizational structures and management systems in universities abroad. The experience enhanced my ability to manage daily tasks more efficiently and provided me with new strategies for planning, supervising, and executing tasks.”
