On November 15th, the 2024 X-Lake Forum opened in Shenzhen X-Lake Sciensity. This forum is hosted by Shenzhen X9 Alliance of Universities and Institutes Around X-Lake Sciensity (X9 Alliance), and organized by Tsinghua University Shenzhen International Graduate School (Tsinghua SIGS). Meanwhile, Tsinghua SIGS hosted four professional forums on the theme of artificial intelligence.
With the theme of this year AI Empowering Future Cities and New Quality Productive Forces, this X-Lake Forum focused deeply on the field of artificial intelligence, gathered the emerging forces of domestic AI, conducted in-depth academic discussions around cutting-edge technologies such as AI +, and focused on the development and cooperation of artificial intelligence technologies with frontier technologies like life and health, materials, deep earth and deep sea, aerospace science and technology under the transformation of new scientific and technological paradigms, explored new paradigms for artificial intelligence technologies to empower industrial development.

At the opening ceremony, Shenzhen Mayor Qin Weizhong extended a warm welcome to all the guests. Zeng Rong, the Vice President of Tsinghua University, expressed sincere gratitude for everyone's long-term support for Tsinghua University and Tsinghua SIGS, and emphasized that Tsinghua University will further deepen the cooperation with Shenzhen in the field of artificial intelligence, and use AI to empower the economic society so as to promote high-quality development. Ouyang Zheng, the Dean of Tsinghua SIGS, served as the host in this academic forum for top scientists.

A total of nine professional forums on the theme of artificial intelligence were held in X-Lake Forum, among which four were hosted by Tsinghua SIGS. On the afternoon of November 15th, four professional forums, namely the AI and Embodied Intelligence Forum, the AI for Sustainable Development Forum, the AI for Science Research Forum, and the AI for Innovative Education Forum, were held simultaneously at the International Conference Center of Shenzhen University Town. The four professional forums respectively carried out in-depth discussions around themes such as AI leading industrial innovation, the application and innovation of AI technologies in the field of sustainable development, AI-driven scientific discoveries and innovations as well as interdisciplinary research methodologies, new thinking and new paths for AI to empower education and new paradigms and new ecosystems for talent cultivation.
The 2024 X-Lake Forum provided participants with a high-end platform for in-depth understanding of the cutting-edge technologies of artificial intelligence, exchanging innovative ideas and exploring cooperation opportunities through various forms such as keynote speeches and round-table discussions. For the first time, this forum was led by the X9 Alliance, deeply drilled down and fully exerted the international influence of the scientific community of the X9 Alliance, and continuously inspired the spark of mutual promotion and strengthening between sci- tech and industrial innovation through cross-border integration and resource sharing.
