    The Institute for Future Human Habitat Studies (iFHHs) at Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School is proud to present its full-time English Master's Program called the “Master of Urban Systems in Human Habitats”. This program is guided by global strategic needs, high-quality innovative development, international industry leadership, and is open to global enrollment through the three-tiered teaching model of professional courses + professional practice + dissertation. The institute is committed to cultivating high-level applied urban planning and built environment professionals with multi-cultural spirit, global vision, social responsibility and technology-based professional design and planning abilities.

    The program closely focuses on the major issues and cutting-edge technologies in urban and rural habitats and their sustainable development. Relying on Tsinghua University's rich teaching resources and the interdisciplinary foundation of multi-disciplinary integration, the program effectively provides strong intellectual support for the  governance of the built environment and its transformation, catering to the future needs of human habitats.

     

    Program Features

    The program aims to develop students' theoretical knowledge and practical skills, emphasizing globally applicable planning concepts and professional training. It is grounded in the rich academic heritage of Tsinghua University's School of Architecture, the interdisciplinary strengths of Shenzhen International Graduate School, combined with the innovative spirit of the City of Shenzhen.

     

    The curriculum is designed to be multi-disciplinary, with modules that cater to the diverse backgrounds of international students. It includes:

    - A comprehensive understanding of urban and rural planning theories and practices.

    - In-depth analysis of the historical, cultural, and economic contexts of the built environment.

    - Exploration of cutting-edge technologies in urban development, such as smart city concepts and ecological urbanism.

    - Professional practice with international renowned enterprises, government departments, and research organizations to understand applied technologies and operational management.

    - Multi-cultural exchange, enabling students to immerse in Chinese history, culture, and society, fostering a global perspective that is essential for addressing cross-regional and international planning challenges.

    Qualification of Applicants

    - Non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport.

    - Holders of a bachelor’s degree in relevant architecture, design, engineering, urban planning fields or equivalent educational background.

    - Proficiency in English for communication and academic studies.

    - Good health and character, with adherence to Chinese laws and Tsinghua’s rules.

    - Two academic recommendation letters from associate professors or higher, or senior professionals in related fields.

    - Successful completion of Tsinghua University's comprehensive examination.
