3rd Tsinghua Hong Kong-Macao Symposium held

On the morning of December 3, the 3rd Tsinghua Hong Kong-Macao Symposium took place online, focusing on the theme “Hong Kong and Macao's participation in and contribution to the Belt and Road Initiative.”

The symposium was hosted by Tsinghua University and co-organized by the Center for Hong Kong and Macau Studies, Tsinghua University, Institute of Belt and Road Initiative, Tsinghua University, and Tsinghua SIGS, in cooperation with the Greater Bay New Horizon Center, Zi Jing Institute, and Shenzhen Foundation for International Exchange and Cooperation. The event’s main venue was at Tsinghua SIGS; sub-venues were set up at the Greater Bay New Horizon Center and Zi Jing Institute.

At the symposium, experts and scholars from the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, and Macao, and entrepreneurs from Hong Kong and Macao who have rich practical experience with the Belt and Road Initiative were invited as keynote speakers. Speakers discussed how Hong Kong and Macao can make use of their unique advantages to more actively participate in and contribute to the Belt and Road Initiative.

Main venue of the symposium

The symposium was broadcast online on platforms including Tsinghua WeChat video channel, Tsinghua SIGS WeChat video channel, and Nanfang+ video channel. The response to this year’s symposium was enthusiastic; livestream views reached 330,000, a record high.
