Tsinghua SIGS and Ping An Bank set up new scholarship

Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School (Tsinghua SIGS) and Ping An Bank have signed a scholarship donation agreement to set up the "Ping An AI Bank Scholarship" on December 4. The scholarship will be awarded to students with excellent performance in academics, research and social work in finance, electronic information and other majors. 



The ceremony was attended by representatives from the Ping An Bank Headquarters such as Cai Ting, General Manager of the Human Resources Department and Wang Rui, Product Director of Platform and Industry Finance Division, Strategic Development Department and others. Wu Xiaofeng, SIGS CPC Committee Secretary, Guan Tian, CPC Committee Deputy Secretary, staff from the Student Affairs Office, as well as student and faculty representatives also joined. 


Wu Xiaofeng thanked Ping An Bank for their continuous support over the years. Both parties have collaborated in areas such as financial services and smart campus development, and the scholarship donation marks a new point of cooperation. “I hope both parties will continue to strengthen collaboration, promote the integration of industry and education, and facilitate scientific innovation and personnel training to support the development of Shenzhen,” he said.


Cai Ting said that the Ping An Group places a strong emphasis on science, technology, innovation, and talents, in line with demands of Tsinghua University and Shenzhen. The Group has also witnessed a growing need for technical talents in recent years, and hopes to cooperate in areas of personnel training, scientific and technological cooperation, and innovation exchange. “We hope to see more excellent graduates join Ping An Group in the future,” Cai said.

Under the witness of attendees, Wu Xiaofeng and Cai Ting signed the Scholarship Donation Agreement, with Ping An Bank donating RMB 1 million for the AI Bank Scholarship.  


After the donation ceremony, Ma Keming, master’s student in electronics and communication engineering, delivered a speech on behalf of the first batch of scholarship recipients. Cai Ting then presented a commemorative work ID to Feng Zhicheng, finance major from the class of 2020, who joined Ping An Bank after graduating this year.

A discussion on university-industry cooperation was also held at the event. Wang Rui and Lu Minzhi introduced Ping An Bank's financial technology (fintech) strategy and university-enterprise talent training plan. Guan Tian explored possibilities for all-rounded cooperation between both parties, while Associate Professor Dong Yuhan spoke about previous experience on the Ping An smart city project, as well as possibilities for joint talent training and research.
