​iBHE and UTokyo hold joint Ph.D. Online Workshop

On November 11, the Tsinghua SIGS Institute of Biopharmaceutical and Health Engineering (iBHE) and University of Tokyo (UTokyo) held a joint Ph.D. online workshop. More than 200 faculty and students from UTokyo, Tsinghua University School of Medicine, and Tsinghua SIGS participated in the seminar. Outstanding Ph.D. students gave academic reports of their work in the field of biopharmaceutical and health engineering.


Associate Deans of the iBHE Ma Lan and Xing Xinghui, Dean's Assistant Ge Jun, Associate Dean of Tsinghua University’s Department of Biomedical Engineering Liao Hongen, as well as Hitoshi Tabata and Yasuyuki Sakai from the UTokyo’s Department of Bioengineering attended the seminar.




The seminar covered research fields of biomedicine, sequencing data analysis, biomedical engineering and showcased latest research results in the field of biopharmaceutical and health engineering.


UTokyo and iBHE Ph.D. students present their research


Through this seminar, faculty and students of UTokyo and iBHE gained understanding of the research directions of both sides, which will be helpful for future research collaboration and exchange, as well as when students choose their joint training mentors. The two schools hope to deepen cooperation in research and joint training of doctoral students, and commence its first joint doctoral training program in 2021.
