Facing needs of the local and global healthcare industry, our research will focus on five areas of health engineering, innovative drugs, vaccine engineering, translational medicine, and life big data. We will create a new interdisciplinary field of engineering sciences, and work closely with industry to translate healthcare science and technology into reality. Interdisciplinary collaboration between fields such as life sciences, medicine, pharmaceutical engineering, biological engineering, chemical engineering and artificial intelligence will provide comprehensive solutions for the healthcare industry, and form a university-industry-research consortium in the field of biopharmaceutical and health engineering in the Greater Bay Area.
Focusing on two key bottleneck issues for human health, “preventive treatment of diseases” and “prevention and cure from the disease sources”, our five major research directions include health engineering, innovative drugs, vaccine engineering, translational medicine, and life big data.
